Role Introduction

To execute the commercial strategies in SEA in order to achieve revenue targets and commercial key performance indicators as well as providing fit for purpose solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation 

• Take responsibility to implement the Cargo Business Plan in alignment with local 

cargo strategies and Key Performance Indicators 

• Actively assist the Cargo Sales team, to achieve revenue target and generate 

incremental revenue. 

• Partner with the Area Cargo Manager to leverage their relationships to grow cargo 

revenue in their respective port. 

• Generate revenue promoting agreed sales channels, leveraging CX product, network 

and product benefits. 

• Be active in the market providing excellent and consistent product solutions to 

customers 


Account Management and Sales Administration 

• Proactively conduct regular reviews of agents performance to target new revenue 

opportunities 

• Partner with Cargo Services team to provide customer-centric solutions to customers • Assist in setting the Cargo Business Plan 

• Lead and manage the day-to-day contact with agents and shippers to support 

revenue generation 

• Analyse and report on market conditions and trends to leverage CX’s competitive 

advantage 

• Provide superb sales and customer service to capture premium incremental sales 

and maintain existing business with effective account management 

• Proactively promote e-initiatives and reinforce the benefits of Agent-Self Service 

functions 


Safety and Regulatory Compliance 

• Participate in a team culture of zero tolerance on safety, security and work health and safety incidents 

• Ensure full compliance in safety, security and work health and safety regulatory 

requirements 

• Ensure that all incidents are fully investigated with remedial actions taken to avoid 

recurrence 

• Adhere to any Internal Audit advice, direction or reporting including e.g. monthly gift 

register advice 

• Ensure absolute compliance in Cathay Pacific’s Anti-trust policy and associated 

guidelines 

• Support the Area Cargo Manager in the event of Emergency and/or Accident 


Partnerships and External Liaisons

• Actively manage relationships with shippers, key industry and trade partners and 

associations so that the Company’s interests are well represented. 

• Confer recognition on, and earn the loyalty of our highest value customers, including 

Cargo Clan Elite members

People Development and Performance Management

• Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success 

• Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organisational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork 

• Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration 

• Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values 

• Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure

• Support the People Managers to design and conduct internal development 

programmes including succession planning as appropriate ensuring alignment with Head Office direction

Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

Requirements

Academic qualifications 

• University degree (or tertiary equivalent) preferably with a logistics, sales and 

marketing or business discipline

Knowledge, skills, training and experience 

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in airline cargo sales, operations or customer service 

• Strong working knowledge of airlines and international airfreight 

• Knowledge of CHAMP CargoSpot System 

• Superb communication and client management skills 

• Sensitive to confidential data and numbers 

• Proven success record in setting and achieving goals 

• Demonstrable ability to work independently
